Australia Tourist Visas

Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport. Australia tourist visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the Australia Embassy requires the original passport.

Note: In order to obtain Australia tourist visas, passport must have one blank visa page and must not expire within the next six months. If you require passport services, please visit our expedited passport services section.

1.2

Australia Tourist Visa Photo Requirement

The Australia Embassy requires two (2) identical passport style photographs taken within the last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for the passport.

1.3

Proof of Travel to Australia

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking agency showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure in Australia.

Proof of Finances

Applicant must submit three most recent bank statements.

Applicant must show on most recent statement sufficient funds to support themselves during the visit (generally this equals $150 USD per day in country).

Bank statement should be originals, although print outs of online statements are often accepted.

Description of Trip Plans

Applicant must submit a letter addressed to the "Consulate of Australia", outlining plans while in Australia. If visiting friends or family, applicant must provide contact name(s), address and telephone number in Australia.

If applicant is less than 17 years old and is traveling with one parent, applicant must provide a signed and notarized letter from the second parent or legal guardian consenting to the travel. If one parents posses full custody, court documents or original birth certificate must be provided to support claim.

If applicant is less than 17 years old and is traveling alone, applicant must submit a signed and notarized letter from both parents or legal guardians giving permission for minor to travel and indication that parents or guardians shall provide the child with sufficient funds to cover all aspects of his/her trip.

Letter Form School or Employer

Applicant must submit a letter from employer or school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that leave of absence has been granted, how long applicant has been employed/enrolled and that applicant will be returning to your current job or continuing education. If applicant is unemployed, provide letter stating such.

Non-US students must also include a copy of their I-20 form

Doctors Release

If applicant is between 3 months and 6 years, applicant must provide a indication of Polio Vaccination including dosage administered certified by local Board of Health.

If applicant is more than 70 years, applicant must supply a letter from their physician that comments on their fitness to travel.

Proof of Residency

If applicant is a non-US citizen, applicant must provide a copy of valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card), Visa, or other proof of legal status in the United States with permission for re-entry.

The following Australia visas are generally available for non-US citizens. Please note that entries, validates, processing times and fees may vary based on nationality:

Australia Embassy fees may be paid by credit card when filling out the ItsEasy online order form below or via money order made payable to "Embassy of Australia". Non-US citizens are encouraged to pay via credit card to avoid potential delays.
