Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport.

Note: In order to obtain Burma visas, passport must have one blank visa page and not expire within the next six months.

Visa Photo Requirement

The Embassy requires three (3) identical passport style photographs taken within the last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for the passport.

Proof of Travel

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking engine showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure in Burma.

Proof of US Residency

Applicant must submit a legible color copy of valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card), Visa, or other proof of legal status in the United States, with permission for re-entry.

Letter of Invitation

If applicant is applying for a tourist visa, applicant must submit a confirmation from the host tourist organization in Burma or from the hotel.

If applicant is applying for a business visa, applicant must have an invitation from the host company in Burma addressed to the Burma Embassy in Washington DC. Fax or scanned/printed are generally acceptable.

Business Visa Requirement

If applicant is applying for a business visa, applicant must submit a Business Cover Letter from a U.S. company indicating purpose of travel, duration and moral and financial responsibilities. Please review the example Business Cover Letter below.

The following Burma visas are generally available for non-US citizens. Please note that entries, validates, processing times and fees may vary based on nationality:

Burma Embassy fees may be paid by credit card when filling out the ItsEasy online order form below or via money order made payable to "Embassy of Burma". Non-US citizens are encouraged to pay via credit card to avoid potential delays.
