Chicago Jurisdiction Applies
to Residents of: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan,
Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Missouri
To get India business visas in the Chicago Jurisdiction, simply
follow the India business visa requirements below. To change jurisdictions,
visit the main India Visas page and
select your state of residence.
1.1
Current
Passport
Applicant must submit their current
passport. India business visas are stamped into a passport,
therefore the India Consulate requires the original passport.
Note: In order to obtain India
business visas, passport must have two (2) blank visa pages
(preferably facing pages) and must not expire within the next
six months. If you require US passport services, please visit

India
Business Visa Photo Requirement
The India Embassy requires two
(2) identical passport style photographs taken within the
last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for
the passport.
The Indian Embassy
will not accept visa photos in which the applicant is wearing
glasses.
Applicant must submit a computer-generated
itinerary from a travel agency or online booking agency showing
departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure in India.

Proof
of Residency
Applicant must submit legible color
copy of their driver's license or state issued ID. If applicant
has recently moved and not updated their ID, applicant must
also provide a recent utility bill.

Birth
Certificate
Applicant must submit a photocopy
(not an original) of a birth certificate. This requirement
was created on Jan 14, 2010 for unknown reasons.
For Non-US born applicants that do not have their birth certificate,
provide a copy of a document issued by Government authorities.
This document could be an old (not current) passport or a
school leaving certificate etc., provided it shows their personal
particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality.

Non-US
Citizen Requirement
If applicant is not a US citizen,
applicant must submit a legible color copy of valid Alien
Registration Card (Green Card) or US visa.
For applicants with
US visas, applicant must prove 2+ years of current visa status
in US or they will be required to apply in their country of
citizenship.
When completing the
online visa application listed below, all Non-US applications
must use their last known address in their country of citizenship
as "Permanent Address" and current US address under
"Present Address".

Business
Cover Letter
All India business visa applicants
must submit a Business Cover Letter from a U.S. company indicating
purpose of travel to India, duration of stay and moral and
financial responsibilities. Please review the example Business
Cover Letter below.
5-year visas are not currently being issued for business
travel.
Note:
Business Cover Letter visa duration request (1-year or 5-year)
must be stated and must match both visa application request
and letter of invitation request.

Letter
of Invitation
Applicant must include a letter
from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead
indicating nature of applicant's business, probable duration
of stay, state the validity of visa applied for (1-year
or 5-year), places and organizations to be visited
and also a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses etc.
Note:
Letter of invitation visa duration request (1-year or 5-year)
must be stated and must match both visa application request
and business cover letter request.

India
Business Visa Application
Applicant must complete and online
application as well as a supplemental form. After completing
the online application, applicant must print and sign confirmation
page.
Note:
Name used for application must match name on passport exactly.
Note:
Visa duration request (1-year or 5-year only) on application
must match both business cover letter request and letter of
invitation request.
Note: Applicant must review completed
application. If mistakes are found, application must be re-submitted.
Corrections to confirmation page will result in rejection
of application.
Persons of Indian Origin: In addition,
applicants born in India applying for the first time on ANY
U.S. passport must submit their Indian passport and a completed
renunciation form OR submit their expired US passport with
a previously issued Indian visa if applicable. Click

Persons of Indian origin must also apply for entry visas
as apposed to tourist or business visas. The duration selected
MUST be 6 months. There is an additional fee of $175 payable
to the Indian Embassy and an additional processing fee of
$55 by ItsEasy. The renunciation process can take between
4 and 10 business days on average.
Persons of Bangladeshi Origin:
In addition, Special Visa application form should be filled
in by citizens of Bangladesh (2 copies with 2 additional photos).
