India Visa Tourist Re-Entry

Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport. India tourist visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the India Embassy requires the original passport.

Note: In order to obtain India tourist visas, passport must have two (2) blank visa pages (preferably facing pages) and must not expire within the next six months. If you require US passport services, please visit our expedited US passport services section.

India Visa Photo Requirement

The India Embassy requires two (2) identical passport style photographs taken within the last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for the passport.

The Indian Embassy will not accept visa photos in which the applicant is wearing glasses.

Proof of Travel to India

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking agency showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure in India.

Proof of Residency

Applicant must submit legible color copy of their driver's license or state issued ID. If applicant has recently moved and not updated their ID, applicant must also provide a recent utility bill.

Birth Certificate

Applicant must submit a photocopy (not an original) of a birth certificate. This requirement was created on Jan 14, 2010 for unknown reasons.

For Non-US born applicants that do not have their birth certificate, provide a copy of a document issued by Government authorities. This document could be an old (not current) passport or a school leaving certificate etc., provided it shows their personal particulars like name, date of birth, parents names, and nationality.

Re-Entry Permit Support Letter

A letter is needed to support the urgency of the visit and the purpose of the visit must be for recreation/sight seeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives/others (to be specified). Registration would be required within 14 days of arrival.

Non-US Citizen Requirement

If applicant is not a US citizen, applicant must submit a legible color copy of valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card), Visa, or other proof of legal status in the United States, with permission for re-entry.

India Visa Application

Applicant must complete and online application as well as a supplemental form. After completing the online application, applicant must print and sign confirmation page.

Note: Name used for application must match name on passport exactly.

Note: Applicant must review completed application. If mistakes are found, application must be re-submitted. Corrections to confirmation page will result in rejection of application.

The following India Visa Re-Entry are available:

Note: Non-US citizen Embassy fees may vary. Non-US citizens are encouraged to pay by credit card when completing the ItsEasy order form below to avoid potential delays.

Ship India Visa Documents to ItsEasy

Ship all India visa documents to ItsEasy Passport and Visa for processing.

ItsEasy recommends our preferred shipping partner Federal Express (FedEx) for document shipping. When completing the online order form above, you will be offered the use of the ItsEasy FedEx account to send document to us. By selecting this service, you will be provided a pre-addressed, pre-paid FedEx air bill upon completion. For urgent processing, it is recommended you select the "First AM" option for sending documents to ItsEasy.
