Schengen Business Visas

Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport. Schengen business visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the Schengen Embassy requires the original passport.

Note: In order to obtain Schengen business visas, passport must have one blank visa page and not expire within the next six months.

1.2

Schengen Business Visa Photo Requirement

The Schengen Embassy requires two (2) identical passport style photographs taken within the last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for the passport.

Proof of Travel to Schengen Country or Countries

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking agency showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure from Schengen country or countries.

Hotel confirmations for stays in all Schengen countries are required. This may be part of the above itinerary or separate document(s).

Proof of Finances

Applicant must submit three most recent bank statements.

Applicant must show on most recent statement sufficient funds to support themselves during the visit (generally this equals $100 USD per day in country).

Bank statement should be originals, although print outs of online statements are often accepted.

Proof of International Health Coverage

Applicant must submit photocopy of health insurance card and a letter from insurance provider stating international or worldwide coverage "for a minimum of $37,000 USD".

If applicant is unable to obtain letter from health insurance provider, a letter from company HR department manager MAY suffice, but is not the preferred method and may cause delay.

Proof of US Residency

Applicant must submit ORIGINAL valid Alien Registration Card (Green Card), Visa, or other proof of legal status in the United States, with permission for re-entry. Photocopies are not acceptable.

Business Cover Letter

All Schengen visa business applicants must submit a Business Cover Letter from a U.S. company indicating purpose of travel to the Schengen region, duration of stay and moral and financial responsibilities. Please review the example Business Cover Letter below.

Letter of Invitation

All Schengen visa business applicants must submit a letter of invitation from the foreign country. The letter should introduce the applicant, detail the purpose and dates of the trip and provide contact information at the foreign company. The letter must be on business letterhead.

Fax copies are generally acceptable as are printed scanned copies. Email or unsigned documents are not accepted.
