United Kingdom Tourist Visas

Current Passport

Applicant must submit their current passport. United Kingdom tourist visas are stamped into a passport, therefore the United Kingdom Embassy requires the original passport.

Note: In order to obtain United Kingdom tourist visas, passport must have one blank visa page and not expire within the next six months. If you require passport services, please visit our expedited passport services section.

United Kingdom Tourist Visa Photo Requirement

The United Kingdom Embassy requires two (2) identical passport style photographs taken within the last 6 months. Visa photos should not be the same used for the passport.

Proof of Travel to United Kingdom

Applicant must submit a computer-generated itinerary from a travel agency or online booking agency showing departure from the U.S. and arrival/departure in United Kingdom.

Bank Statement

Applicant must submit three most recent bank statements.

Applicant must show on most recent statement sufficient funds to support themselves during the visit (generally this equals $100 USD per day in country).

Bank statements should be originals, although print outs of online statements are often accepted.

Letter Form School or Employer

Applicant must submit a letter from employer or school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that leave of absence has been granted, how long applicant has been employed/enrolled and that applicant will be returning to your current job or continuing education. If applicant is unemployed, provide letter stating such.

Non-US students must also include a copy of their I-20 form

Letter of Invitation

If applicant is staying in hotel, skip this section.

If applicant is staying with friends or family, applicant must provide the following:

• A letter from sponsor (the person applicant is visiting) explaining applicants relationship with them and the purpose of visit; AND
• A copy of the bio-data page (the page containing photograph) of the sponsors UK passport; OR, if sponsor is not a UK national, a copy of the bio-data page of the sponsors passport and evidence of their immigration status in the United Kingdom

If the sponsor will be supporting the applicant during the visit, or paying for the cost of the visit, applicant must provide sponsors most recent bank statements.

Sponsor must show on most recent statement sufficient funds to support applicant during the visit (generally this equals $100 USD per day in country).

Proof of Residency

Applicant must provide proof of immigration status in the US and permission to re-enter the US after your trip. Original documents required.

Examples include:

• Permanent Resident Card
• Valid US visa (e.g., H1B, F1)
• Advance Parole Document
• Employment Authorization Card (does not permit re-entry to US)
• Valid DS 2019 (Formerly IAP66)
• Valid I-20 (must be signed on the reverse by designated school official)
• Valid I-94 Arrival Departure Record

United Kingdom Tourist Visa Application

Applicant must submit one (1) printed and signed copy of confirmation from online visa application. Payment must be made via credit card to embassy during this process.

During application process, applicant will be asked to set appointment for biometric appointment. This process requires the applicant to submit to fingerprinting by agent on behalf of United Kingdom Embassy. Upon completion of biometric appointment, applicant will be provided stamp of completion at which time documents may be forwarded to ItsEasy for processing.

Priority Service (Required)

In June of 2010, the UK Boarder Agency implemented a new Priority Service program. This program is designed to offer a faster turn around for UK visa applications. All applications submitted by third parties MUST utilize the Priority Service. The cost of this service is $150 on top of the visa fee.

Applications received without the Priority Service confirmation will either be charged an additional $200 or returned. By submitting your documents, you accept this term.

United Kingdom Tourist Visas and Fees

Visa are paid during the application process in section 1.6 above. Fees, entries and type vary based on visa requested. Processing times are generally between 2 and 4 business days.

NOTE: "Processing" refers to business days in the embassy and does not include processing or shipping.

Ship all United Kingdom tourist visa documents to ItsEasy Passport and Visa for processing.

ItsEasy recommends our preferred shipping partner Federal Express (FedEx) for document shipping. When completing the online order form above, you will be offered the use of the ItsEasy FedEx account to send document to us. By selecting this service, you will be provided a pre-addressed, pre-paid FedEx air bill upon completion.
